Shoreline Shuffle Report-Kara Protasio, Secretary

We had 32 people sign up and only 28 run. This is down from the 35 we got last year. Next year’s race date is set for September 28. We learned that we could have used more help promoting the race from members. We also need to make sure that we get everything taken care of with the State Park.

Hawk Hundred Report-Cara

Sherrie Klover took care of everything for the incident reports for Christopher Wilson’s dead. It was taken care of within 24 hours and State Park and she turned in the RRCA insurance forms. She turned in the RRCA insurance forms. Sherrie and Ami Weidler-Hyten may give a bigger report at the next meeting. We donated $200 to the Veterans Suicide Awareness foundation in honor of Christopher Wilson’s memorial. The board discussed potential ways of honoring Christopher.

Bruce Miller sent out a message asking if we could look into putting a trail marker in Christopher Wilson’s name at the site to honor him. Maybe we could honor him next year as the beneficiary of the Sander’s Saunter race. Maybe we could do a donation bucket at the Hawk next year. As a group we were going to come up with ways to honor him and present some ideas to the his family and let them guide us. A suggestion was offered to retire his bib number.

Cara will reach out to Clinton State Park and see if the trail marker is an option. We’ll discuss options at the next meeting.

Prowl, Howl & Growl Update-No report

Sanders Saunter Update - No report

Adopt-a-Highway Update-Lisa Ball, Vice President

We’re stalled until someone watches a video on what to do for the program. The office is in Topeka and closes at 3 p.m. We plan to start this the beginning of 2019. Dates for the clean up days are January 20, April 28, and October 6.

Volunteer Plan update-Lisa

Lisa created a form for members to fill out to see who is interested in volunteering for races next year. It includes shirt sizes, races, Hawk name (if applicable) . The idea is to get a rough estimate of shirts that we will have to order for volunteers. Shirts will be unisex. The goal is to have shirts ready for Pi Day.

New Race Idea-Mary Ann Frevert & Megan Moriarty

Mary Ann Frevert and Megan Moriarty presented a new run. The Half Ass Birthday Run would be Feb. 16 and 17. The fatass would begin in the afternoon on Saturday with a sunset run. Sunday morning would be a sunrise run that would run to Lake Henry and back. Mary Ann would like to rent the Wakarusa Cabin as the meeting spot for the race. Attendees can bring snacks. Mary Ann and Megan would have to get insurance and get it approved from the State Park. There is potential for swag. #teamwinter

We will eventually have a safety meeting for race directors and fat ass run leaders. Meeting TBD

Meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
