2014 Planning Board Meeting

Attending: Justin Henning, Justin Douglas, Gary Henry, Jeff Triplett, Nicole Green, Colinda Thompson

We discussed the board members/officers that are stepping down at the beginning of January 2014 after the Annual Members meeting. The following positions will be open for nominations: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Social Media.

Justin Henning (President), Nicole Green (VP), Colinda Thompson (Secretary), and Chris Wristen (Social Media) will all be stepping off the Executive Board when this year’s term ends. President, Vice-President and Secretary (along with the Treasurer) are all voting positions on the Trail Hawks Board. Justin Henning will send out an email to the membership to inform them of the open positions and that the deadline to nominate a Trail Hawks member (or express interest themselves) for a position will be January 10, 2014.

The Annual Membership Meeting is set for the afternoon of January 25, 2014 (location to be determined). An agenda and date/location will be sent out to membership as soon as it is confirmed. This will be a potluck and open to all Trail Hawk members or anyone wishing to become a member of the Lawrence Trail Hawks.

The dates for the 2014 Trail Hawk races were set as follows:

Coleen’s Frozen Fat Ass – January 2014 (Date yet to be determined by the RD). Pi Day River Rotation / Pi Miler – March 16, 2014 Shoreline Shuffle – 5k – 5/4/2013 (Date to be confirmed by the RD). Hawk 100 mile/ 50 mile / Marathon – September 13 to 14, 2014 Halloween Prowl, Howl and Growl – October 17, 2014 (Date to be confirmed by the RD). Sanders Saunter 10k (and possible Half Marathon) – November 22, 2014 (Date to be confirmed by the RD).

The Board is looking at purchasing t-shirts, tanks, and sweatshirts for sale at our running events. Justin D. and Caroline will look into the pricing and order information. Justin D. will obtain a Square for the organization for credit card transactions.
