2021 Night Hawk Recap πŸŽ‰

July 15, 2021 by Todd "BAR Hawk" Chandler

Congratulations to all the Night Hawk racers! Running at night in hot, humid conditions is always challenging, and this year had the extra challenge of running on pavement. πŸ‘Š

Out of the 198 entrants, we had 166 finishers - an 84% finisher rate! That’s a lot of grit and determination of the runners, and also a testament to the strength of our volunteers and the planning and preparation of our outstanding Race Directors!

Special congrats to our long-time Night Hawk racers! Mike Miley (left) is the only Hawk that ran the race all six years. Trudi Chavez (middle) ran it the last five years, all at the 50k distance. Cara Combs (right) ran it five years and managed to finish it at all three distances.

Huge thanks to our Race Directors Mary Ann Frevert and Shari Hicks. Our organization depends on volunteers, and these two put a ton of blood, sweat, tears, and love into this event! Bravo! πŸ‘
